The SEEDED COMPETITION COMMITTEE administers the criteria, which are established to select seeded competitors (15 years and older) to fill the Maine quotas to elite events, and selects the coaching staff to accompany these racers and recommends changes in the Maine Teams as needed. Committee: Laurel Lashar - chair Mark Godomsky, Doug Williams, Harry Ricker SEEDED COMPETITORS are those selected to fill state quota to elite events including J2 Regional Championships, SR-J 1 - J 2 Eastern Regional Championships, and J 1 - J 2 Finals. For racers to be considered for these quotas, your 2007-2008 USSA and MARA membership needs to be complete. For quota slots to races earlier in the season, selection will be made from those athletes who are MARA members at the time of selection. NATIONAL TEAM SELECTION METHOD (NTSM) is the method used throughout the country when making racer selection based on points from more than one discipline. Competitors are ranked in each discipline to be considered and one racer is selected from each discipline. If the racer in one discipline has already been selected, the next discipline is considered; selection continues until the quota is filled. A more complete explanation can be found in the USSA Competition Guide. Selection for MARA Gold Card Team (racer subsidies): MARA will subsidize entry fees for up to 20 low point skiers who joined MARA by November 15, 2007. The selection of up to 12 men and 8 women is determined through NTSM using the November 2007 points list. To be on this list, points in technical disciplines must be 75 or lower, and points in speed disciplines must be 125 or lower. Eligibility for selection is based on MARA membership for the 2007-2008 seasons. The athletes listed below will receive subsidized entry to all MARA races in 2007-2008. The following point cut offs have been established for the 2007-2008 season. If, at any time during the season, a MARA athlete's points are lower than the cut off listed for the discipline being contested, entry fees will be subsidized by MARA. The 2007-2008 Gold Card Team will be posted after November 15, 2007. MARA 2007-2008 GOLD TEAM: Ben Manter, Leo Menard, Joshua Kernan, Dan Loman, John Canney, Corey Linton, August Fleix, Matt Garand, Gary Rumley, Ross Brockman Megan Papinueu, Emily Sampson, Lauren McGrath, Whitney Fahy, Liz Thompson, Laura Littman, Emma Coffin, Micaela Holland MEN & WOMEN SENIOR MARA CUP SPONSERS Sunday River, Skane Ltd/Odlo USA, Northern Lights, Skier's Edge, Ski Depot, GEE & BEE, Jack Frost, Mt.
